Craniosacral Balancing

What is Craniosacral Balancing?

This is an extremely gentle form of physical therapy which aims to readjust any misalignments of the bones of the head (cranium), vertebrae (spine) or bottom of the spine (sacrum).  The treatment induces deep relaxation and gentle holding and stretching techniques are employed to release tension and realign the skeletal structure of the body.  This in turn facilitates the free flow of cerebro-spinal fluid within the brain and spinal cord and this nourishes the nerves located there.

Other techniques such as unwinding are used to release energies that get ‘lodged’ or stuck in the body due to trauma or shock.

Craniosacral balancing has been shown to alleviate a wide range of conditions, including, migraine headaches, chronic fatigue, motor-coordination impairments, chronic neck and back pain, scoliosis, and TMJ—tension related problem.

Patients are fully clothed but are asked to wear or bring loose, comfortable clothing.  A cranio session lasts 1 ½ hours.
